The Amazon Echo Studio 2022 is a minor upgrade of this powerful smart speaker, the biggest of Amazon's current Alexa-enabled line-up. The Echo Studio now comes in Glacier White and boasts slightly refined audio, but it's otherwise business as usual. Here's an unboxing and setup with early impressions of this updated blaster!

If you want powerful sound and you're a massive bass fan, this is the obvious choice vs the biggest Nest rival. Those lows can swamp other elements but with the Dolby Atmos and Sony 360 support you can enjoy a full-bodied soundscape. If you have Amazon's Fire TV streamer you can hook up the Amazon Echo Studio 2022 and setup a solid home cinema arrangement.

This Alexa smart speaker obeys your every voice command and those far-field mics work well even when the speaker is absolutely blasting music. The Echo Studio 2022 can be controlled and customised via the Alexa app for iOS or Android, and you can even change that wake word.

So, if you have the older Amazon smart speaker, there's no reason to upgrade to this model. However, if you're after a beefy bass-heavy blaster that works well in a home cinema setup, the Echo Studio could be a great choice for under £200.
