Описание к видео DIY SMALL FISHING TROLLING ( DIVING PLANER BOARD ) | Offshore Deep Trolling Fishing

Diving Plate Trolling Uses a Weighted, Adjustable Board (Like a Planer or Paravane) To Pull Lures or Bait Down to Specific Depths, Mimicking Natural Bait Movement and Reaching Fish Deeper Than Surface Trolling, With the Plate “Tripping” or Flipping Up When a Fish Strikes, Allowing for a Direct Fight.

Making Your Own Small Fishing Planers (Also Known As Diving Boards) Can Be a Fun and Rewarding DIY Project, Especially if You’re Into Fishing. These Devices Help To Keep Your Bait at a Specific Depth in the Water, Allowing You To Target Fish at Different Levels.

Here’s a Simple Guide To Help You Make Your Own Fishing Planers.

Materials You’ll Need:
– Plastic or Wood or Aluminum (for the Body of the Planer) I Made It From Expired Vehicle Number Plates. ( Strong, Cheap, Rust-Proof, and Easy To Shape 😅 ).
– Epoxy or Waterproof Glue
– Nylon or Stainless Steel Wire (for Towing the Planer)
– Rope or Strong Fishing Line (for Attaching the Planer to the Boat)
– Lead Weight (Optional, for Extra Sinking Power)
– Small Hooks or Rings (for Attaching the Fishing Line)
– A Saw, Sandpaper, and Drill (for Cutting and Shaping the Material)

Steps To Make a Small Fishing Planer
1. Design Your Planer:
– The Basic Shape of a Planer Is a Flat, Elongated Board With an Angled Front. The Angled Surface Helps It Dive Down When Pulled Through the Water.
– A Typical Size for a Small Planer Could Be About 10 to 15 Inches Long and 3 to 5 Inches Wide.

2. Cut the Shape:
– If You’re Using Wood, Use a Saw To Cut Out a Rectangular Piece of Wood. The Board Should Be Thicker in the Front (for the Angled Dive Surface) and Thinner Towards the Back.
– For Plastic, You Can Use a Similar Method, or Even Repurpose an Old Plastic Cutting Board.
– Sand the Edges To Make the Planer Smooth. You Can Also Shape the Front Edge To Be Slightly Rounded or Tapered for Better Diving Performance.

3. Add the Weight (Optional):
– If You Want Your Planer To Dive Deeper or Work Better in Rougher Water, Add a Lead Weight at the Back End. Drill a Small Hole and Epoxy the Weight in Place.
– You Can Also Attach Small Weights Along the Sides of the Planer if You Need It To Sink Faster.

4. Drill Holes for Attachment:
– On the Front of the Planer, Drill a Small Hole Where You Can Attach the Towing Line (This Is the Line That Will Connect to the Boat).
– On the Back of the Planer, Drill a Hole for Attaching the Fishing Line That Will Hold Your Bait.
– Make Sure the Holes Are Properly Sized for the Wire or Line You’re Using.

5. Attach the Tow Line and Fishing Line:
– Use a Strong Nylon or Stainless Steel Wire for the Towing Line, As It Will Take the Most Strain. Make the Tow Line Long Enough To Give You Some Distance Between the Planer and the Boat.
– Attach a Small Hook or a Ring to the Back of the Planer. This Is Where You’ll Attach the Fishing Line, Which Will Carry Your Bait Behind the Planer.

6. Test Your Planer:
– Once Everything Is Assembled, Test Your Planer in the Water. Adjust the Length of the Tow Line or the Weight Until It Dives to the Desired Depth.
– If It Doesn’t Dive As Expected, Try Adjusting the Angle of the Front or Adding/Removing Weight To Get the Right Balance.

7. Finishing Touches:
– Once You’ve Made Sure Your Planer Works, You Can Paint It To Help It Withstand the Elements. You Can Also Add Reflective Tape or Markings To Make It Visible in the Water.

Tips for Use:
– Depth Control: The Depth at Which the Planer Runs Will Depend on the Weight, the Angle of the Front, and How Fast You Tow It. If You Want To Fish at a Deeper Level, Increase the Weight or Lengthen the Tow Line.
– Multiple Planers: You Can Make Several of These in Different Sizes or Weights To Cover Multiple Depths at Once.
– Monitor Your Planer: While Fishing, Check Periodically To Ensure Your Planer Is Still Functioning Properly and Hasn’t Gotten Tangled.

This Is Just a Basic Plan, So Feel Free To Get Creative With the Materials or Designs.
Have Fun, and Good Luck on Your Fishing Adventures! 🎣

Note:
– Please Be Careful !!! Not To Get Stabbed by the Fishing Hook 🙏🙏🙏
– Remember, All Equipments Is Adjusted to Depending on How Big a Fish Will You Catch.
– All Knots Must Be Wetted Before Tightening, in Order To Avoid Overheating of the Fishing Line!
– Always Respect Nature and the Environment Wherever You Are.
