Ranthambore Tiger Crisis: 25 Tigers Missing, Chief Wildlife Warden Pavan Kumar Upadhyay Speaks Out

"When I became the Chief Wildlife Warden, we started reading the Tiger Monitoring reports," says Pavan Kumar Upadhyay, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) Wildlife of Rajasthan, in reference to the missing tigers in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. In April 2024, we wrote the first letter related to this.We got a response, but it wasn't good enough. After that, we began requesting a weekly tiger surveillance report. Eleven tigers have been missing and untraceable for over a year, according to the report dated October 14. About fourteen more tigers have gone missing in less than a year.Therefore, it was thought that a committee should be established to look into this.
