Tenacity and Success

Continuing his address on elements of success for the teens and youth, Om Swami expounds on the role of tenacity on the path of success.

You alone are responsible for what you do with your life. Your parents, peers or your friends are not responsible for what you do. They may have suggestions, they may have opinions or they may give you advice and tell you to do this or that. Ultimately nobody can force you to do something unless you agree to do it. And, in that agreement is the consent that yes I accept the consequences of what am I going to do now.

If you keep doing what you want to do the whole universe will sit by your feet and make way for you. The only power in the world that will eventually work for you under all circumstances and at all places is the power of knowledge. If you keep accumulating knowledge, you keep increasing your value, you can do anything that you fancy. But, just sitting and dreaming will not make it happen for you. The realization of the dream only comes from one thing. At the core of everything is the tenacity, the determination that I am not going to give up.
