I Pravir The Adivasi GOD - A Documentary Film on Bastar (Chhattisgarh, India)

Summary: Bastar (Chhattisgarh), a tribal majority region of India, rich in natural resources and poor otherwise, has been a socio-political challenge. In the last few decades it got embroiled in Naxalism. Bastar’s erstwhile king, Shri Pravir Chandra Bhanjdeo (1929-1966), who championed Bastar’s cause and was killed in police firing, continues to remain popular. The documentary explores the lives of people of Bastar, its issues and how the memory of their erstwhile king has become a symbol of hope.
