Climbing Through 1995 Microburst-Impacted Forest | Birdathon | Pepperbox Wilderness

Описание к видео Climbing Through 1995 Microburst-Impacted Forest | Birdathon | Pepperbox Wilderness

May 22, 2022. The second part of my departure from Cropsey Pond through a 1995 Microburst-impacted forest in the southern part of the Pepperbox Wilderness Area of the western Adirondack Park. The video stops abruptly, as my bushwhack continues through the forest toward the highest point before descending down to Raven Lake Road. This video is the second part of the third day of my trip birding in the southeastern Pepperbox Wilderness for the Birdathon in 2022.

Unfortunately, the GPS in the GoPro was malfunctioning, so the map insert on this video is just a static aerial photo of the area with my route in green. A red arrow shows my movement from northwest to southeast.

Note: This video is in a raw form, that is, it has only been lightly edited, annotated and/or altered. The footage remains mostly as I experienced it while bushwhacking through the Adirondack Park backcountry, just as nature intended it. Be forewarned, loud noises will arise from branches, hands, hiking poles, etc. hitting the camera.
