Also called the Toyota Carina E, the Toyota Corona (not to be confused with the 2020 pandemic) was Toyota's mid-sized sedan in the Philippines before the introduction of the XV20 Toyota Camry. It sold together with the then even higher end Toyota Crown which now is spiritually succeeded by the Lexus GS (or arguably the ES albeit in RWD form). Other names for the Toyota Corona included Corona "Absolute" and Corona Exsior.
