*"Arshad Nadeem Ends Pakistan’s 32-Year Olympic Medal Drought with Historic Gold in Javelin Throw"*

Pakistan’s 32-year wait for an Olympic medal is finally over, thanks to Arshad Nadeem’s spectacular performance in the men’s javelin throw at the Paris Olympics.
On Thursday night, Arshad made history by winning the gold medal with a record-breaking throw of 92.97 meters marking Pakistan’s first Olympic gold in 40 years.

Arshad's journey to the top was not without challenges. After a disallowed throw in the first round, he made a remarkable comeback with his 92.97-meter throw at a speed of 110.0 kmph setting a new Olympic record.

Despite a couple of less powerful throws in the later rounds, his earlier performance secured his place as the Olympic champion.

India’s top javelin athlete, Neeraj Chopra who had previously defeated Arshad at the 2023 World Athletics Championships struggled in the final. Though he managed a strong second-round throw of 89.45 meters it wasn’t enough to surpass Arshad and Neeraj took home the silver medal. The bronze went to Andersen Peters of Grenada.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, along with millions of Pakistanis, took to social media to express their pride and joy congratulating Arshad on his historic achievement.

This victory not only brings Olympic gold to Pakistan but also cements Arshad Nadeem’s status as a national hero following his previous gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
