Gen-II Secondary Air Injection Bypass Module - 2007-2021 Tundra 5.7L- Hewitt Technologies

Installation and discussion of the Hewitt Technology Inc.'s Gen 2 Secondary Air Injection System Bypass Kit. In this video we install the Gen 2 kit on a 20008 5.7L Tundra. Even though we are installing this on an 08 Tundra for the video the it is applicable to and the installation will be the same for all 2007 and newer 5.7L vehicles including the Sequoia, Landcruiser and LX570 up to the last year of the 5.7L, 2021.

The Gen 2 kit is the most comprehensive solution for a failed secondary air injection system to date. It is the required solution for any of the Flex Fuel vehicles and all of the 2014 and newer Toyota/Lexus vehicle or earlier vehicles that will run the system on engine shutdown.
The kit includes the Gen 2 Bypass Module, a pair of exhaust block off plates, a custom harness, a full color copy of instructions, our Expert Technical Support and a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
This kit will take care of all the normal mechanical secondary air trouble codes like P2440, P2441, P2442, P2443, P2445, P2447 but also take care of electrical fault codes like P0418, P0419, P0412, P0415, P1613 and P1614 that our older Gen-I kits need kit addons to take care of.
Unlike our previous V3 and V5 units, the Gen-II unit let's the ECM think the entire secondary air injection system is operating like it should and the emissions monitor will show as complete the next time the systems is commanded to operate. The Gen-II Kit takes the place of the factory air injection control drivers and communicates directly with the ECM. The only parts of the system that is required to remain are the pressure sensors in the air switching valves. If those have been damaged by exhaust or you want to remove the valves they can be replaced by adding Pressure Sensor Options to the kit. * Update* The blank plug caps are now shipping with the units. Use the blank plug caps instead of just taping off the connectors. It is also recommended to remove both factory air injection control drivers so there are no open and unused connection points.
