The 2022-23 PGA TOUR regular season concludes at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina, for the Wyndham Championship. A lot is on the line this week as only the top 70 in the FedExCup Standings will qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs. Perhaps the biggest story of the week is Justin Thomas, currently 79th in the standings, who needs a big week to avoid missing the playoffs for the first time in his career. K.H. Lee will also be looking to break into a playoff spot this week. He’s struggled on TOUR as of late, but still has four top-10 finishes and seven top-30 finishes in the season so far to keep him in playoff contention. Si Woo Kim will also be teeing it up in North Carolina. He’s finished 5th, T3 and 2nd in the past at Sedgefield. Anchored by a fourth-place finish at the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday in June and a T2 at the AT&T Byron Nelson in May, Kim will be looking for a win. J.T. Poston will also be in North Carolina this week. Since the John Deere Classic, he’s had four straight top-10 finishes with two T-6 finishes and a T2. He was also victorious here in 2019 as he scored a bogey-free 22-under-par for the tournament. Others to look out for are Hideki Matsuyama, Shane Lowry and Adam Scott, as well as both Ryder Cup captains – Luke Donald and Zach Johnson.
