Althorp Estate: Family Home & final resting place of Diana, Princess of Wales| Explore the Bringtons

Days out in Northamptonshire :
1) Althorp estate open to visitors July and August . It is the family home of the Spencer family one of Englands most prominent aristocratic families. It is also the final resting place of Diana Princess of Wales.
2) Food - Althorp Coaching Inn - A great English pub in the village of Great Brington | Saracens Head in Little Brington another traditional English pub .

3) Northamptonshire countryside - A Circular walk around the Bringtons taking in the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside .

4) St Marys church in Great Brington . Historically significant due to its connection with the Spencer family. There is a private family vault in the church housing the remains of various ancestors of the Spencer Dynasty

So was it worth it ? We didn't think so . The entrance to house and gardens is £27 per head . We thought expensive and no comparison to Chatsworth House and Gardens in Derbyshire( £30 ) .

However if you want to see the home of an aristocrat , visit the final resting place of Princess Diana , visit a 12th century church with a family vault , explore beautiful Northamptonshire countryside and typical English villages as well as lunch in a traditional country pub then you'll have a very lovely English day out.
