Brittany Ferries Bretagne Full Tour - Portsmouth to St Malo

Описание к видео Brittany Ferries Bretagne Full Tour - Portsmouth to St Malo

In this video A2B via Sea takes you aboard Brittany Ferries original superferry, Bretagne.

Built in the 1980's she is now the oldest member of the Brittany Ferries fleet, though arguably the most loved due to its warm and homely charm, good layout and the fact she is unique-she has no sister ships.

In this video we embark in the French Port of St.Malo in Brittany (see video in the 'Port Playlist' of my channel).

Arriving within the ships wonderful two level atrium on Deck 6 we find the ships information desk, kiosk selling books and magazines, perfume shop and, if we walk forward along the cabin corridor, a vast exterior deck on the bow of the vessel which can be accessed by the doors in the far port/starboard corners. When open this exterior deck provides simply magnificent views and is the perfect place to watch the passing vistas, including our arrival into port.

Access to the dual cinemas on Deck 5 can be reached by taking the same corridors and using the starboard stairs to descend to Deck 5.

Up on Deck 7 we have La Baule Self Service Restaurant at the forward end; a bright and spacious dining area in an informal setting serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Plus, a children's playroom can be found within.

Walking aft we have the Boutique selling a range of duty and tax free goods, electrical equipment and souvenirs. Along the ships starboard side in the highly attractive window lined arcade with seating. The good quality carpeting and curved ceiling makes this area a place you want to relax in and 'people watch'. It is like a facility in its own right and not just a thoroughfare.

At the stern of Deck 7 is the Yacht Club Piano Bar and adjacent Les Abers Restaurant. The later is a formal attractive dining room whilst the former is a luxurious well decorated facility; an ideal place for a pre or post dinner drink. Both facilities offer direct access to their own private exterior deck at the aft end.

Moving up to Deck 8 we find the Gwenn Ha Du Bar at the stern; a terraced facility which gives character straight away, a stage and dance floor in one corner and a wide bar at the other. A good feature is that ramp access is available should you have walking difficulties.

Along the starboard side we find a selection of reclining seat lounges all subdivided from each other by floor to ceiling partially obscured walls and large luggage storage areas.

Port and amidship we have La Gerbe De Locronan Café; essentially a counter service snack bar offering a range of hot and cold beverages and pastries. A children's playroom can be found within this facility.

Finally on Deck 9 passenger facilities are located aft with the Games Planet Arcade on the port side and Commodore Lounge to starboard, the later only accessible if you have a Commodore class cabin. A further public reclining seat lounge can be found off the adjacent corridor.

Bretagne offers a considerable amount of exterior deck space considering the size of the ship.
