In the Caribbean it is not an uncommon sight to see a group of seabirds resting on an anchored boat. However, in the winter migratory season, you can see Sandwich Terns lined up in a row.

The Laughing Gull is the usual suspects for dirtying fisherfolks' boats, but they usually head north for the winter. Simultaneously, the Sandwich and Royal Terns head south for the winter.

You can tell by the white poop markings on the side of the boat that these birds spend a lot of time on those boats.

The Sandwich Tern is a medium sized tern that has a black bill with a yellow tip; the mustard after eating a sandwich. In the winter months, their non-breeding plumage shows bald cap with a black nape; giving them the appearance of a bald old man.
