Federal Minister for Finance & Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, met today with a high-level delegation of the Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Association (PPMA) led by its Chairman Dr. Tahir Azam.

The Minister congratulated the industry on achieving a record 34% year-on-year export growth, noting that Pakistan’s pharma sector continues to outperform global trends - with domestic growth at 18% compared to the global average of 5%.

The PPMA presented its ambitious vision of USD 10 billion pharmaceutical exports, including the establishment of PharmEx Pakistan, a dedicated export promotion platform bringing together public and private sector stakeholders.

The delegation appreciated the government’s regulatory reforms that have slashed product registration timelines from years to weeks, and reaffirmed the government’s continued support for export-led, investment-driven growth.

The meeting ended with a shared commitment to deepen collaboration between the government and the pharmaceutical industry to position Pakistan as a major player in the global pharma market.
