Antique NuTone wall exhaust fan

Описание к видео Antique NuTone wall exhaust fan

A friend of mine picked this old fan up to install in their house, I wanted to refurbish it beforehand to ensure a long service life. I’ve polished the chrome grill and stripped the paint from the blades and then polished them. This fan is very quiet in operation yet moves a shit ton of air, and surprisingly still had its wall control with the unit, both the fan and controller are built like tanks. This fan is quite odd in the fact that it uses a unit bearing motor just like what’s found in commercial refrigerator condenser fans, while cleaning the bearing in the motor, I noticed that it doesn’t have a brass sleeve, instead utilizing the cast iron rod itself as the bearing surface, the shaft has a spiral oil groove cut into it, it didn’t have a very large oil felt in the wick area so I stuffed some cotton in to hold a bit more oil. The motor is made by Morrill Motors.
