This iconic exhibit, located at the nation’s largest indoor train display in West Chester, Ohio, officially closed forever on January 6, 2025. This video is a heartfelt tribute to the stunning 1,000-square-foot replica of the historic Coney Island Amusement Park, an experience cherished by families and fans of model railroads, amusement parks, and local history.

Nestled along the Ohio River, Coney Island has a storied history dating back to 1886. For generations, it has been a beloved landmark, offering thrills and timeless memories. This meticulously crafted display captured the park as it stood in 1965, complete with iconic rides like the Shooting Star roller coaster, standing 40 feet long and 4 feet tall, and the Ferris Wheel, nearly 4 feet tall. Every attraction was recreated to scale using historic photos and dimensions, offering a nostalgic look back at Coney’s golden era.

The working rides were a marvel to behold! From the Lost River to the Flying Rockets, Tumblebug, Sky Ride, Lake Como train ride, and Carousel, this display was a masterpiece of craftsmanship. Other beloved features included the iconic Coney entranceway, the famed Coney Mall with perfectly trimmed Ginkgo trees, Moonlite Gardens, the Haunted House, Skeeball, basketball games, and even the steamboat landing at the Ohio River Gate.

EnterTRAINment Junction truly outdid itself with this exhibit, blending history and interactivity. Visitors were invited to engage with the display through nearly a dozen interactive buttons, bringing rides to life with movement, lights, and music. Sadly, this extraordinary experience has come to an end, but it remains a testament to the love and effort poured into preserving a piece of Ohio’s history.
