4.3 The Art of Roman Politics

The forum was the political heart of every ancient Roman city and statues of both males and females were a very important political tool displayed there. In many ways statues worked like modern political election posters. Moreover, in this video the reconstruction of colours and the study of reusing both statues and buildings will be thematized and should show in what way this is important for a better understanding of Roman politics.

This video is part of the MOOC "Discovering Greek & Roman Cities" which was produced by the Strategic Partnership "Ancient Cities", a cooperation between the Christian-Albrechts-University at Kiel, the University of Aarhus, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athen, the University of Bergen, the Open University of the Netherlands and Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne.
