Engine Company X: The Powerful Voice covers the history of African Americans on the Los Angeles City & County Fire Department between the years (1886-1969). This installment is helmed by Arnett Hartsfield (better known as The Rookie) who was a member of the Los Angeles City Fire Department and one of the men who pushed for integration in L.A.s fire stations. He is also one of the founders of The Stentorians who are still active today staying on top of issues that concern African-Americans on the city and county fire departments. This film contains images of classic fire stations, apparatus, and photographs from the museums own archives. This film was a selection of the Pan African Film Festival and has had numerous runs at area events including the Medal of Valor Awards in which Mr. Hartsfield was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. This film has also enjoyed runs on local television and reappears every year during Black History Month. This film was a production of Westlake Signal Group.
