Horrid King Assassin Bug: The Best Pet Invertebrate?

Horrid King Assassin Bugs (Psytalla horrida) are a large predatory insect sometimes kept as a pet. Are they the best pet invertebrate? For many people, the answer is no, as they have a painful bite, and are reported to be able to spray their irritating venom into a human’s eyes. Because of these potential hazards are NOT a pet for children or beginners, and should not be handled without appropriate protection. However, for those who plan to care for them responsibly, they are certainly a fascinating and unique species!
