If you’re unsure, it can help to ask yourself:

✅ Are they still eating AND enjoying food?
✅ Can they move comfortably, without constant pain? Can they get their food okay? Can they go to the bathroom without too much discomfort?
✅ Do they have more good days than bad?
✅ Are they engaged with the world, or just getting through it?
✅ If they could tell you, what would they choose?

When those answers begin to change, it may be time to have an honest and open talk with your veterinarian about comfort care and next steps.

Letting go with love isn’t giving up. It’s choosing peace, dignity, and compassion for the one who gave you everything.
