Wayfarin' Stranger/Goin' Home

Описание к видео Wayfarin' Stranger/Goin' Home

A couple of weeks ago Greg and I played prelude for the traditional service at our church. There was a glitch in the recording, and only half of it had audio. Jim Beck, our "media man," was kind enough to make time for us to re-record it. The arrangement came about when I was playing "Wayfarin' Stranger" one night and Greg came in and said, "I think "Goin' Home" will layer with that." The rest is, well, this arrangement. I hope you like it!

I'm just a poor, wayfarin' stranger
Atravelin' through this world of woe.
But there's no sickness, toil, or danger
In that bright land to which I go.

I'm goin' there to see my father.
I'm goin' there no more to roam.
I'm just a-goin' over Jordan.
I'm just a-goin' over home.

I know dark clouds will 'round me gather;
I know my way is rough and steep.
But beauteous fields lie just before me,
Where God's redeemed their vigils keep.

I'm goin' there to see my mother.
She said she'd meet me when I come.
I'm just a-goin' over Jordan.
I'm just a-goin' over home.

Also overlaid is Antonin Dvorak's "Going Home" theme from the second movement, "Largo," of his 9th symphony, "New World."
