A brief look at Liverpool's contribution to the national action to raise awareness of the funding of fracking in Ryedale, North Yorkshire, by Barclays Bank. Police and bank staff prevented protesters from entering the bank on this occasion, but a significant impact was made by the use of placards and speeches given over a megaphone. Hundreds of leaflets were given out and the issues explained to shoppers and customers entering and leaving the bank. They were advised that other, more ethically sound, banks are available and encouraged to divest from Barclays.
