What is Terazosin 2mg (Hytrin)?

Terazosin is an α1-Adrenergic antagonist, antihypertensive. It selectively blocks post-synaptic alpha-1-adrenergic receptors, resulting in dilation of arterioles and veins, resulting in decreased blood pressure.

It also blocks adrenergic receptors in the neck of bladder and prostate, resulting in smooth muscle relaxation, and improved urine flow.

So it is used in the treatment of hypertension, and in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia.

It is available as 1 mg, 2 mg, 5 mg and 10 mg tablets.
