Kirby on Sports at The Handley Bowl - Judges get Week 1 victory over Musselman

The Kirby on Sports Podcast took a trip to The Handley Bowl as The Judges hosted the Appleman of Musselman.

The Judges got off to a very hot start as freshman quarterback, Triston Darling ran for a 47 yard touchdown on the Judges second play from scrimmage. Musselman was able to answer with a good drive that was capped off by Zach Miller 33 yard touchdown pass to Jaden Rhyne. Explosion was the name of the game for Handley as running back, Hassan Akanbi scored his first of four touchdowns on the first play of the Judges second drive with credit being given to the Judges offensive line.

The Judges claimed the victory over the Appleman 43-14

Josh spoke with Musselman Head Coach, Brian Thomas about the Appleman and their performance as they just implemented the Single Wing offense and what he saw from the offense.

Josh also speaks to Hassan Akanbi after his four touchdown performance, Jaishaun Offutt who was one of the names on the Judges offensive line and quarterback Triston Darling on his reaction on being named starter and his thoughts on the Judges victory over Musselman.

Judges Head Coach, Jake Smith also speaks with Josh about the offensive line and the explosion on offense and the short turnaround to a Thursday matchup at Harrisonburg.
