Chris Tang Ping-keung, Secretary for Security of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government, met with the media on Monday following the verdict in the case of Jimmy Lai, an instigator of anti-China riots in Hong Kong. Tang said law enforcement actions were taken strictly in accordance with the law, emphasizing that no individual or organization is above the law.

Jimmy Lai was found guilty on Monday on two charges of conspiring to collude with external forces and a charge of conspiracy to publish seditious materials. The High Court of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region delivered the verdict in the national security case involving Lai and three companies connected to the now-defunct Apple Daily.
