ID-5100 Bluetooth on the cheap

I describe how to kitbash a cheap way of bluetooth enabling your ID-5100 for use with the Android app. The Ci-V adapter cable is described in chapter 13 of the ID 5100 full manual. The bluetooth module I used is widely available on E-Bay for under $5. The jacks and plugs I used bring the project to under $10, but they can be left out if you desire a more permanent configuration. The original intent of this project was to bring the bluetooth features to the ID-51A,but since Icom locked the features of this app to the 5100, only the DR functions work with the 51A. (Which is still kind of neat to control your HT with a cell phone.) Good Luck!
