Inertia Friction Welder for Aerospace Component - Model 480B

This model 480B, 425 ton (850K lb max., 3.8K kN max.) forge force inertia friction welder has a 1000 max. RPM rating and can weld 42 in sq (27,098 mm sq) max. tubular area. This machine is designed to weld jet engine components typically made from titanium or nickel-based heat resistant alloy.

Rotary Friction Welding is a solid-state process in which one part is rotated at high speed and is pressed against another part that is held stationary. The resulting friction heats the parts, causing them to forge together.
