Cute Unicorn Needle Felting Tutorial Video
I'm really excited to share this Youtube video on how to needle felt tutorial because of all the DIY needle felting projects I have done, it is my favorite! I love unicorns and I love how this unicorn turned out.

This project is a little different from my other tutorials because I show you how to use poly fill to save on wool when making larger pieces. The unicorn is a little bigger than some of my typical needle felting projects. It's also a little softer and squishier. When you use poly fill, I've found that the pieces come out a little more fluffy and a little less solid.

So this unicorn wasn't the easiest project for me - I accidentally broke all 3 needles on clover pen at once 😱 AND I stabbed myself with the needle accidentally! I was working on the legs and forgot to put on my felting thimbles!!! So I shed blood for this unicorn...

In this video I show you how to remove broken needles from your project, including how to cut open your felted piece, retrieve the needle(s), and felt it back together. It's a little setback that's not too difficult to deal with. I apologize for the blurry footage during this portion of the video, as I was kind of distracted by trying to fish out my needle and wasn't focusing on the quality of the video. I didn't even realize that I was still recording! But when I saw it, I thought it might be helpful to include in my video.

Anyway, I hope you can learn from my mistake! Poke slowly especially when your wool gets firm or when you are working on small parts, pull your needle out from the same direction from which you inserted it, and watch your fingers!

Time Required: approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours

10 minutes to create polyfill eggs (5 minutes each)

20 minutes to wrap the wool around the eggs (10 min each)

20 minutes to make the legs (5 mins each)

10 minutes to make the ears (5 mins each)

10 minutes to attach all the white parts

10-15 minutes to make the mane and attach it

10-15 minutes to make the horn and attach it

3-5 minutes to attach the eyes

10 minutes to make the wings and attach them

4 grams of polyfill (4 g 충전솜/폴리필)

5.5 grams of white wools (1 gram to wrap each eg, 2 grams for the legs, less than 0.5 grams for the ears, 1 gram for wings) (5g 흰 양모)

0.5 grams of pink wool (핑크 양모)

0.5 grams of blue wool (파란색 양모)

0.5 grams of purple wool (보라색 양모)

less than 0.5 grams of yellow wool (노란색 양모)

less than 0.5 grams of black wool (검은 양모)

felting pen (펠트 펜)

felting needle (펠트 바늘)

felting mat (펠트 매트)

scissors (가위)
