“These programs mark a paradigm shift in the way that our government and citizens interact with one another. With the power of technology, we can break barriers and bridge gaps in ways that we have never been able to do before,” remarked President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., lauding the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) as they officially launched the Electronic Local Government Unit (eLGU) System and the People’s Feedback Mechanism (eReport) — two (2) electronic systems that leverage technology to deliver convenient and efficient government services to the public.

Both the eLGU and eReport are vital components of the DICT’s eGov PH Super App, which is a mobile application that integrates the multi-sectoral government services in a single platform. The eLGU System covers a wide range of local government services such as business permit licensing and local tax processing, among others, while the eReport System allows citizens to file real-time case reports through their mobile devices during emergency situations.

“We now live in a world where technology is occupying a vital and important part of our existence. Let us embrace it and see the good it can do for our society… I truly believe that digitalization will be a hallmark of our progress as we move to the future,” the President added in his keynote address.

He urged all government agencies and LGUs to collaborate with the DICT in integrating their services to the eGov PH Super App in order for the said application to attain its objective of becoming a multi-sectoral mobile application for all government transactions.

The Chief Executive called on the DICT, DILG and local government offices to ensure the efficient execution of Executive Order No. 32, series of 2023, to ramp up the implementation of infrastructure projects intended for the telecommunications industry. This is to accelerate the country’s digital transformation.

“Let us continue to transform the way we serve the Filipino people, let us usher in a future fueled by digital empowerment and inclusive progress,” President Marcos Jr. ended in his message.
