DaVinci IQ VS Pax 3 Vaporizer - The Pros and Cons You Need To Know

We have decided to put these bad boys head-to-head and see which one has the best bang for you buck.

DESIGN
The DAVINCI IQ is an entirely new redesign from the people that brought you the DaVinci Ascent and Classic. Somehow they managed to put everything we like about both devices into one very small device with even more new features to peak any vape fanatic's interest.

Pax went the safer route with Pax 3, adding new features like concentrates and app functionality but nothing revolutionary with this iconic device. Nevertheless, Pax 3 keeps the same simple design and the iconic X on the front of the device.

We are giving the design for both vaporizers a TIE. We believe DaVinci really stepped their game up in the design of this generation and Pax has always have a great aesthetic so we're calling this one a DRAW.


BATTERY LIFE
The Pax 3 has a rechargeable battery like the last two before it so it doesn't seem to be much new here. New to the DaVinci IQ is the removable 18650 battery and micro USB charger.

These types of batteries can be tailored with different types so that you can get faster heat up times or longer battery life depending on which 18650 you put in your device.

The warranty typically doesn't cover batteries and with the Pax, there isn't a way to change it out if your device's battery were to fail. With the IQ, it would be just a matter of going to your local vape shop and buying a new one.

The other nice thing is that you can always have a spare battery on the charger so that you'll never ran out. With the Pax 3, you simply cannot.

Though we don't know what the actual battery life is going to be for either device, we have to give this one to the DAVINCI IQ for being able to swap out their battery for their fresh one and allows you to stay on top of the battery technology in the market.


VAPOR QUALITY
The DAVINCI IQ is made out of a ceramic bowl and zirconium airpath which at first we had no clue what this meant but after a quick Google search it appears to be a medical grade that are used for dental veneers and other medical devices. So it should taste very nice and its similar to glass but stronger. The Pax 3 has a steel bowl and what we assume to be a metal and plastic airpath.

There are pros and on vapor paths. With steel bowls, you're gonna get slightly faster heat up time but the flavor would be less desirable as opposed to a ceramic bowl, its takes a little longer to heat up. However, you're likely going to get better temperature accuracy and much better flavor.

We would have to give vapor quality vote to DAVINCI IQ.


APP FUNCTIONALITY
The Pax 3 and DAVINCI IQ both have app functionalit which is a really cool feature. Now we don't really know how many features you can access to on either device but it does appear that you can use both without the app.

According to DaVinci, they have made statements that the IQ has full temperature control when using the device stand alone. We would assume that the Pax 3 doesn't allow for precision temp without the device connected to your phone.

The DAVINCI IQ wins for control as well. Plain and simple, you have access to more ways you can use, how you want.


VALUE
The DAVINCI IQ and Pax 3 are both priced at $275, which is a premium price. Both have an astounding 10-year warranty and when you look at which one to buy, it really depends on what you value most.

If you want great taste, more precise functionality and a better battery solution, the DAVINCI IQ would be a better fit for you. Pax 3 strong points are its design and the device is slimmer but taller and its heat up time should be faster.

But in our opinion, the flavor differences and the ability to swap out batteries gives the DaVinci IQ just enough to take the win on this head to head battle.
