Welcome to our video where we go walking up to Orrest Head! We'll take you on a scenic hike to see some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Lake District.

First, we wander through Elleray Wood. There's a choice of 2 paths, the more direct and therefore more steep orange and red trail, or the more gentle switchbacks represented as the blue and white trail.

Orrest Head is a stunning viewpoint that offers views down onto Lake Windermere, and countless fells, crags and pikes on the other side - helpfully with a plaque at the viewpoint letting you know what you're looking out onto. Views onto Coniston Old Man, Scafell Pike and the Langdales are just a few you can see. It's easy to understand why this is popular with tourists and locals alike as the panoramic views are breath taking.

To get back, we chose to do a circular walk, wandering amongst friendly and curious farmers sheep, crossing through low hag wood, high hag wood and wandering around the back of some of the stunning mansions in this area, gawping at their gardens and trying to spot the elusive red squirrels.
