The third edition of book offerings from Bounty Archive (previously BA-1 and BA-2) is designed to be your daily companion for work and play. Where former Bounty notebooks have flexed robust closure mechanisms and a commanding desktop presence, the BA-Mini chooses subtlety and convenience. While its smaller size allows it to easily feel at home in a shirt pocket, toolbox, or purse, it still boasts the quality and durability that field agents have come to expect from Bounty Archive's handmade books.

In this video, Bounty Archive showcases each step in fabricating the BA-Mini Pocket Notebook.
Luxurious Japanese and Italian bookcloths are cut to size, along with natural liner paper and washi endleafs. Fabric covers are secured to a crisp cardstock in the name of durability and functional aesthetic. Using a basic awl and a paper guide, I punch holes corresponding with a proprietary binding pattern through all the materials. Next, hand-waxed embroidery floss is sewn through the pages, making a secure and stylish presentation and binding the book FOREVER. After resting overnight under intense pressure in my homemade bookpress, the books are briefly liberated before heading the "Yopper" (heavy-duty paper cutter) to be trimmed to their final dimensions. This video marks the debut of my corner cutter machine, which gives each volume a polished look and protects against excess fraying. Each notebook is stamped with a field for writing your name, some information about the book's contents and the date. The Bounty Archive logo is applied and each book is signed and dated by the artist. Finally, a branded washi paper sleeve is slipped around each one, ensuring the book looks the same when it reaches your hands as it did when it left the offices/studio of Bounty Archive.

All of my books are created on location in my apartment in New York City. I hope that you enjoy the sights, sounds, and general sensations evoked by this ASMR video, to which I've added no music. While this is not intended to be a tutorial, you may feel inspired and/or challenged to use some of the featured techniques to make something functional and beautiful. I hope this is the case.
