I am concerned for the following users of this narrow road with parked cars, joggers, walkers with or without dogs, child strollers (including, the hearing and vision impaired, the physically impaired with or without canes, crutches, wheelchairs, 4 Wheel Mobility Scooter, etc.) inline skaters, electric bike scooters for kids, cross-country roller skis, bicycles, etc.

Many small children, under supervision, learn to ride a bike there.

On June 2nd, I learned the following from the Bicycle and Pedestrian Program Coordinator Massachusetts Department of Transportation, Office of Transportation Planning.

I remain confused as the Commonwealth does not have jurisdiction over the road but they can intervene.

".......I should also stress this roadway is not under MassDOT jurisdiction, the City of Newton controls it. That does allow the City some leeway when reconstructing or reconfiguring a roadway without Federal or State oversight. Obviously, if MassDOT thought this roadway configuration posed a safety hazard, we would intervene... During the last minutes of my narrative I mentioned that I probably heard 40,000 motor vehicle appeals over 33 years. 25,000+ is a conservative amount.
