Governor General's Award Acceptance Speech

His Excellency the Right Honourable DAVID JOHNSTON C.C, C.M.M, C.O.M, C.D, Governor General of Canada, was the recipient of Pollution Probe's inaugural environmental and Sustainable Development Leader Award. This year's award recognizes His Excellency as a driving force for environmental innovation in Canada.

The Award Pollution Probe's Environmental and Sustainable Development Leader Award recognizes extraordinary achievement by those individuals or organizations who embody, inhabit or reflect the values espoused by Pollution Probe while working toward positive, tangible environmental change. Created by acclaimed Canadian crystal designer and sustainability artist, Mark Raynes Roberts, the award is crafted from optical crystal and sits on a base carved from 100-year-old reclaimed wood from Georgian Bay.
