This Could Have Been Our Last Hike Together | Kiki and I on the Tahoe To Yosemite Trail

I wasn’t sure this video would ever be completed. In the days after this hike my dog Kiki became very ill. After a seven day stay in an emergency hospital, and a major surgery, things looked very bleak for our little family. We were being buried under massive vet bills, and weren’t sure Kiki would make it.

She did eventually come through the other side, but complications to the surgery continue to haunt us.

We had to resort to a fund raising campaign, and this community came through for us in a big way! We can never truly thank you enough.

As a small gesture of our gratitude I wanted to finish the video of what could be our last backpacking trip together, and share it with all of you. I hope it brings you some joy.

We are still dealing with a lot of debt, but the load is much lighter thanks to your generosity.

Kiki is doing much better, but she’s still got long road ahead. We don’t know if she’ll ever be able to join me on backpacking trips again, but we are hopeful.
