Blaze Foley - Clay Pigeons (Cover)

New cover song: ‘Clay Pigeons’ by Blaze Foley. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t covered this song when someone suggested it as it is one of the most well-known Blaze songs and one of my favourites. I have based my cover on his live version, featured on the 1999 album ‘Live at the Austin Outhouse’. It was recorded in 1988, just two days before he was tragically shot and killed by a friend’s son. This lovely song has been covered by many artists including John Prine and, more recently, Michael Cera whose cover has recently become viral on Tik Tok. I actually really like Cera’s version, I recommend giving it a listen. I have covered many of Blaze’s songs before and I find it sad that he never lived long enough to see his music get the recognition it deserves. Anyway, I hope you enjoy my cover; t was a pleasure to sing and play.
