Описание к видео Face twitch: Hemifacial spasm or Bell's Palsy? What's the difference?

#facecramping #eyefluttering #eyetwitching #hemifacialspasm
A Face twitch is not as uncommon as one would think. There are many causes of face spasm or face cramping, most important and most amenable to treatment being Hemifacial spasm. However, in our clinical practice, we have often found patients being wrongly diagnosed as having Bells palsy when in actuality they have hemifacial spasm. Of note, is that hemifacial spasm can develop a few mont5hs after Bells palsy. This type is generally not very amenable to effective treatment by MVD surgery.
Bells palsy is a condition where one side of the face is weak as compared to the opposite side. This is generally sudden and mayb ecaused by a viral infection.
