A REALLY GOOD TIP TO OVERCOME SOCIAL ANXIETY IS TO SLOWLY EXPOSE YOURSELF TO NEW SOCIAL SITUATIONS WITH PEOPLE: This really takes the pressure off you having to talk to people in social situations that are too overwhelming for you. This is brilliant! strategy for people that have really bad SOCIAL ANXIETY.

(This is the exact strategy that I used to overcome my social anxiety and build my self-confidence) I am supremely CONFIDENT that this strategy will work for you 100%

"Taking small steps" with regards to talking to people in new social situations, helps you to build confidence at a pace that you can handle. This method is called exposure therapy: Which basically means to manually expose yourself to the things that scare you until you are no longer afraid of them. (Another term is called becoming desensitized to fear and anxiety or fight or flight! (all the same thing)

Most people that have "SOCIAL ANXIETY" make the mistake of putting too much pressure on themselves to be confident in social situations with people. This actually has a reverse effect on your confidence and self-esteem because it puts unrealistic expectations on how you should be.

You really want to get full control over your "negative inner voice" that puts a way to much pressure on you to be a certain way. It's important to keep moving forward in your life but at a comfortable pace that you can handle.

Let me give you some examples of how you can successfully do this:

1) You can practice going out in public on your own and getting more comfortable around people. You can do this by simply going for a long walk in the park. This would be a great achievement for somebody that is really "socially anxious" and finds it very difficult to leave their house.

This small step will help you to build more confidence :)

2) You can practice going into shops/supermarkets and just saying hello to the person at the checkout! Again this is a very simple exercise that will help you build confidence.

The essence of my teaching method is: (TAKING SMALL PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS) For every small step, you take it gives you the confidence and courage to take the next slightly BIGGER!! step. This is all about gradually exposing yourself to new social situations until you are no longer fearful of them/ Or until you are confident you can manage your anxiety when you speak to people.

3) You can practice having slightly longer conversations with people in public/new social situations. Another example of that could be: when you are buying a coffee in Starbucks for example You can ask the person how their day is going and just see how they respond. Then if you feel confident enough you can ask them which country are they from. The idea is to practice getting more comfortable with speaking to people :)

4) Another great challenge is to get on a train by yourself and travel to a new destination. As simple as this sounds, it's really great for boosting your confidence and self-esteem.

5) You can go to the cinema by yourself and watch a movie :)

6) A more advanced challenge would be to go to a social meetup group. This in my opinion is the best thing you can do to overcome your social anxiety and build your confidence. It's fantastic for giving you the social practice you need to speak to people and build REAL connections. It will also give you that extra momentum to continue challenging yourself in new social situations. Plus it will improve your overall SOCIAL SKILLS which is so important for connecting with people and building honest relationships.

7) Public Speaking would be life-changing for overcoming your social anxiety and taking you to the next level. You don't have to do public speaking btw to overcome your social anxiety if you don't feel ready.

8) Going on first dates is another great way to overcome your social anxiety and build your confidence and self-esteem.

You must remember to NEVER GIVE UP on yourself, no matter how difficult things may get when you are doing this.
