This was the grand finale of the 2025 edition of Warbids Over Monroe. Shot on Sunday, November 9.

Warbirds Over Monroe is an annual air show held in Monroe, NC. It features a unique gathering of vintage fighters, bombers, and trainers. At the very end of the show, all of the bombers and fighters will take off to beat the pattern up with pyrotechnics and end with a mass formation flyover. Every year, the formation is unique, consisting of which ever aircraft and pilots participated in the show.

The B-25J Mitchell "Wild Cargo" is owned by the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach, VA. MAM and Warbirds Over Monroe have a very great relationship, with MAM supporting the air show with rare warbirds and purchasing the C-46 Commando "Tinker Belle" which the city of Monroe owned for many years.

The first P-51D Mustang "Quicksilver" was meticulously restored by a Bob Yoak, a master craftsman who was able to obtain an original blueprint of the P-51. He spent years restoring this Mustang to a condition that was better than a factory new P-51. He also designed the paint scheme to be a tribute to the armed forces. Bill's son Scott "Scooter" Yoak now owns and flies the plane.

The second P-51D Mustang "Cincinnati Miss" is flown by Doug "Rosie" Rozendaal, the pilot of the Commemorative Air Force's Tuskegee P-51C, which was supposed to fly at this air show. Unfortunately, that plane had maintenance issues and couldn't make it. The Tri-State Warbird Museum sent their P-51D down the day of the show to fill in.

Tom Richard restored this beautiful TP-40N Warhawk to flying condition. It is one of the only flying dual stick controlled P-40 in the world. Tom immigrated to the US in pursuit of the American Dream. When he finally achieved the dream and began flying this aircraft, he named it after his story. In addition to flying this air show, Tom offers rides in the P-40.

This act features pyrotechnics, which were provided by the Tora! Tora! Tora! Bomb Squad.
