PS6 Rumors Begin: Sony Chose AMD Over Intel For PlayStation 6 Over Backwards Compatibility & Pricing

Even though it's only been a week since PS5 Pro was revealed, we've just gotten a big report from a credible publication about PS6. That's right, PlayStation 6. Sony's next mainline console that still isn't expected until at least 2028. But we're hearing that Sony was negotiating with Intel, AMD, and a few others for the contract that would supply the chip powering PS6. And it seems Sony did settle on AMD again, over pricing and the desire to ensure backwards compatibility. Let's go over the details and what this means as we go into a new cycle of news for a new generation of PlayStation. I wrote 'new' a lot right there. Might do it again. New. News. Hehe.
