The Constant Able PTT Series is the most capable and broadly compatible push-to-talk platform for professional two-way radio users. Developed with tactical law enforcement teams—including SRT and SWAT operators—and refined through feedback from military and public-safety communicators, Constant Able was engineered to overcome the toughest interoperability, environmental, and interference challenges in modern missions.
From headset to radio, Constant Able just works.
Key Features
Universal Headset Compatibility
• Supports NATO U-174/U (J11) mono headsets — the single-channel standard used across U.S. military and aviation-style communications.
• Supports U-384 dual-comm stereo plugs when used with the included adapter, which automatically converts stereo headsets to mono-binaural output (sound in both ears) for single-radio operation.
Proven field compatibility includes:
– PELTOR COMTAC II–VIII & XPI
– Ops-Core AMP
– TCI/Safariland
– MSA Sordin
– Aviation-style and discreet earpieces such as N•Ear 360 Flexo and Invisio M3
Supports Both NATO and PELTOR Wiring Standards
Constant Able automatically detects and adapts to both NATO (U.S.) and PELTOR (EU) headset wiring conventions.
These standards differ in how the microphone and speaker signals are assigned within the connector — essentially “swapping” the routing of the mic and earphone circuits. If mismatched, a headset’s speakers can behave like a microphone and the boom mic can act as a speaker, rendering communication unusable.
Constant Able eliminates this problem entirely by auto-detecting the wiring convention and dynamically routing the audio and microphone channels for proper operation — no switches, adapters, or manual configuration required.
Smart Microphone Switching
Constant Able automatically identifies whether the connected headset uses a dynamic microphone, an electret microphone, or an amplified electret design.
It then intelligently adjusts bias voltage, gain level, and impedance matching to ensure optimal transmit performance across all supported headset types.
This means crystal-clear transmission whether you’re using a military-grade COMTAC, a low-impedance aviation headset, or a covert in-ear system — all without any setup or tuning.
Automatic Configuration and Power
No user input, switches, or batteries required. Constant Able configures and powers itself automatically, detecting headset wiring, microphone type, and radio interface characteristics. It draws minimal power from the radio and adapts instantly to the connected system.
Broad Radio Compatibility
Seamlessly integrates with leading professional and public-safety platforms, including:
• Motorola APX Series (1000–8000, SRX2200)
• Motorola MOTOTRBO / XPR / XiRP / DP Series
• Kenwood NX-3000 and NX-5000 Series
• Other supported commercial, tactical, and industrial radios using compatible side connectors.
Rugged, Field-Proven Design
IP67-rated sealed housing resists water, dust, and chemical exposure.
Reinforced cabling and impact-resistant construction ensure long-term reliability in extreme environments.
Mission-Optimized Ergonomics
Large, glove-friendly transmit button protected by an integrated hot-mic shroud.
Ambidextrous rotating clip allows flexible mounting on web gear, plate carriers, or uniforms.
Superior RF and EMI Immunity
Engineered to suppress interference and audio artifacts caused by TDMA burst energy and digital waveform noise from modern radios (including DMR, P25, and TETRA), ensuring clear, intelligible audio even in high-RF environments.
