2 years after the first flights of our FMX-4 model with pusher motor 2" above trailing edge-TE showed annoying porpoising, I have lowered the motor mount to only 3/4" above TE. This is an extreme nose-high flight that shows how slowly it can fly, an interesting characteristic of the Facetmobile invention by Barnaby Wainfan (more at Wainfan.co).

Original Facetmobile full scale invention by Barnaby Wainfan (more at Wainfan.co), includes a pdf 'pavereport' contracted by NASA of 2004 that has suggestions for an improved design with higher efficiency and a novel (full scale) construction technique using honeycomb board. Model specs:
FMX-4 but with unique pusher configuration.
Radio is Dynam Detrum Gavin 6A with MSR66A iStone Rx.
16" W X 19" L (not including elevons)
8.1 oz (pretty heavy) including 300 maH 7.4V batt.
Motor: from a bugs racing drone. Max thrust should be about 4.5 oz.
CG center/centre of gravity is 1.5" aft of airfoil peak, while the design appears to place CG a at the airfoil peak.

FMX-4 is designed for tractor motor, which would fly better. I only mounted the motor aft because we crash model planes all the time and there's less need for repair with motor aft.

It could be built much lighter, maybe 5 oz? The bottom fwd panels of black foamboard is much heavier than the new white $-Tree FB up top. Airframe hasn't broken after several full-on crashes!

The radio is Gavin with istone Rx, with an auto-leveling ('recovery') mode.
