Even decades later, that rhetoric stuck. Today, politicians still reach for those same words because they pack an emotional punch.
The second reason is policy. #democrats tend to support things like expanding healthcare, regulating large corporations, or raising taxes on the wealthy. To supporters, that’s just making #capitalism fairer. To critics, it looks like #government #overreach — and they label it socialism.
