The living legend Bruce Swedien and his wife are celebrating their 80th birthday this year. I had the pleasure of spending a week with the Swediens working in the studio recording and mixing with Bruce trying to learn some of his chops, and also ended up playing piano and doing background vocals on a song witch were used on the dvd enclosed in his new book. Actually every chapter on the dvd starts with the piano solo I recorded :). Me and my songwriting partner Olaf Øwre decided to write a tribute to Swedien to honor his work and the great people they are.

Bruce recorded, mixed, and assisted in producing the best-selling album in the world, Thriller by Michael Jackson. He was the primary sound engineer for Jackson's studio recordings from 1978 to 2001. He also recorded and mixed for artists such as Patti Austin, Natalie Cole, Roberta Flack, Mick Jagger, Jennifer Lopez, Paul McCartney, Diana Ross, Rufus, Chaka Khan, Barbra Streisand, Lena Horne, Donna Summer, Sarah Vaughan, the zouk band Kassav', Count Basie, Art Blakey, Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Lionel Hampton, Quincy Jones, Oscar Peterson, Herbie Hancock and Jeff Oster.
