The proposed LRT system is intended to operate on 4 main lines as given below
1) Red Line: Ragama-Kadawatha-Fort-Kirulapone (32.4 km)
2) Green Line: Kelaniya-Borella-Nugegoda-Piliyandala-Moratuwa (28.6 km)
3) Blue Line: Hunupitiya-Angoda-Koswatta-Kottawa (21.5 km)
(Above 3 lines will consider as PPP basis - Public Private Partnership)
4) CLR (Colombo Light Rail) Purple Line: Malabe-Pettah (15.8 km)
(CLR will build with EPC (Engineering Procurement & Construction) funded by JICA-Japan
*Proposed KV line heavy electric train system will interconnect with some of above LRT stations (when ADB funded KV line project become a reality as planed by CSRP. Line will go up to Maradana to Avissawella).

WRLRT is a project by Megapolis Transport Plan under Ministry of Urban Development, Water Supply and Housing Facilities. This project still in active mode we expect it will be a reality in future (19 Sep 2020).
*Note (Oct 2020)
CLR (purple line): JICA-Japan funding cancelled by the Sri Lankan Government and this line will continue to build with PPP basis.
