This video will show how I do hand pollination and cross pollination on the dragon fruit flower. Hand pollination is carried out by cutting the filament of the flower and touching the anther (the end where pollens are located) to the stigma. I will eventually place the filament/anther on the stigma and leave it there. I will also place pollens available from other varieties (cross pollination) of dragon fruit that I have collected and stored in the freezer/refrigerator. Doing cross pollination will increase the chances of having bigger size fruits. Pollens are most viable at the time of opening. If at the same time there are flowers opening from another variety, then cross pollination can be carried as well. Collecting and storing pollens from different varieties are advantageous because this will ensure availability of pollens when needed for use in cross pollination. Thank you for watching.
