Day 2 of our safari at Lion Sands River Lodge in the world-renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve delivered everything you'd hope for on a morning game drive – and more.

We started just after sunrise, and within 5 minutes we were surrounded by a majestic herd of elephants. Not long after, we encountered an unforgettable scene – a pride of lions, complete with playful cubs and two powerful males keeping watch.

After an atmospheric coffee stop at a hide, we continued tracking wildlife and were rewarded with more elephants, before an exhilarating moment on foot with a group of buffalo in the riverbed.

The energy, the wildlife, the golden morning light – it all came together for an unreal safari experience.
