I take a closer look at the Genesis classic ESWAT City Under Siege. A radical departure from the arcade on which it's based, I absolutely loved it. Watch this to find out why.

Episode Notes:

1. There is also a Master System version of this, but it is much closer to the arcade style design.

2. The last boss is a lot harder on higher difficulties. You get less life, thus making his final burner attack that much more lethal.

3. I still own my original ESWAT. Complete in box, mint condition. It meant that much.

4. This was one of the very first games I ever saw in S-Video for the Genesis. I went to school for electronics and looked up the chip that output the video for the Genesis. I saw there was a luma and chroma. I experimented with it and found a good method to mod the circuit. I can't say I was the first to do this, but it was mid 90's, well before I had access to the internet.

5. I was also a fan of the film Robocop. This naturally made ESWAT appealing as well.
