After his success as the frontman for Glide, Matt Parish returned to the spotlight in 1984 with his debut solo album, Out In The Streets. Drawing comparisons to legends like Joe Lynn Turner, Stan Bush, Michael Bolton, and Henry Lee Summer, Jack’s powerful vocals and melodic songwriting were tailored to appeal to fans of mid-80s arena rock.

Monarch Records had high hopes for Edge of Dreams and sent Matt on an extensive promotional tour across the Midwest, with numerous radio appearances and TV performances. He also scored a coveted opening slot for Rainbow’s USA tour, further expanding his audience. However, despite the album being a gem for AOR lovers, it didn’t reach the commercial heights Monarch had hoped for. Still, Matt’s effort was praised by critics and he was offered another chance to release a follow-up solo album in 1986.
