Mount Rose & Church Peak

Today we hike in near Lake Tahoe in Nevada. Mount Rose is a popular trail in this area. The trail is very well maintained and the elevation gain is gradual. However be mindful that the top is over 10k feet so you may not be used to the elevation.

I started on the Tahoe Rim Trail and followed it until it turned off to Mount Rose. Towards the top it got a bit rocky compared to the rest of the trail but nothing tricky just some larger rocks on the trail. Difficulty wise I’d give this one a 5/10 just based on being so high above sea level.

I also stopped by Church Peak. I think I missed the official turn off for the trail so I kind of just walked off trail towards the peak until I found a path. This peak was very rocky but if you stick to the trail it’s fairly easy.
